From April 1980 to October 1991, 26 patients with primary gastrointestinal lymphoma were treated at the Department of Surgery, Presbyterian Medical Center, Chonju.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1) The primary tumor sites were stomach 12(46%), colon 7(27%), rectum 4(15%) and small intestine 3(12%).
2) The peak age of occurrence was the 5th decade and more than 70T of them were over 5th decade. The ratio of male to female was 19 to 7.
3) The common symptoms at presentation were abdominal pain(81%), weight loss(42%), nausea & vomiting(19%). The common signs were abdominal tenderness(73%), abdominal mass(31%) and rebound tenderness.
4) The diagnosis was made by pathological examination after operation. 24 cases of them were non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. In classification by Working formulation, there are intermediate grade in 21 cases(88%), high grade in 5 cases(12%) and 2 cases
were
Hodgkin's lymphoma of lymphocytic depletion type.
5) 10 cases among 26 patients had surgical resections. The twenty two patients and chemotherapy; CHOP-Bleo in 18 cases, CHOP in 2 cases, C-MOPP in 2 cases and three patients had radiotherapy.
6) The complication were obstruction in 2 cases, panperitonitis due to perforation in 3 cases.
